Type Of Loft Covers
- Dormer:
This is our most popular type of loft conversion within UK. Due to its flat roof, it gives the maximum amount of further space. This type of dormer is built vertically on top of an existing sloping roof providing extra floor and head space. Add on such are large windows and skylights can provide excellent natural light.
- Mansard:
A mansard loft conversion is situated at the rear of the property. This conversion has a flat roof, with the back wall sloping inwards. Windows are usually housed within small dormers which extend from the ceiling to create supplementary space. Generally built with bricks but can be cosmetically changed with tiles hung.
- L Shaped Dormer:
L-shaped dormer, remarkably similar to the rear dormer with another side back.
- Hip-To-Gable:
Most preferred option for semi-detached houses which tends to have a reasonably small internal space. The hip is extended vertically from the ridgeline to create a gable dormer conversion, an intelligent solution that maximises floor and head space.
- Velux Loft Conversion:
Velux is a type of window. So, a Velux Loft Conversion is also known as roof light Lofts. With this conversion, the roofline is unaltered, and windows flush to the roofline. A great cheaper option to add natural light within the loft.
